Mr. Jake Mousel To All Instructors

My name is Jake Mousel, and I have been intrigued by mathematics ever since I was in elementary school. I entered the University of Nebraska - Lincoln as a math major, and found myself working for the department as a tutor in their Math Resource Center. Before long, I made a small course correction and finished my time at UNL with a degree in secondary math education. The following fall I started working for LPS as a substitute teacher, and quickly became a frequently requested sub (by the teachers anyway). While I maintained that employment during the school year, summers became a bore, and needing to prevent idle hands, I started working for some friends who owned a coffee shop, and kept up with some evening/weekend hours once the school year started up again. Years passed (after they sold the business), and the opportunity to manage a new shop was offered to me. As that became a much more full-time endeavor, I slowly got out of the substitute teaching world. Once again, years passed, I'm now managing a different coffee business, but while there I was apprised of the possibility of teaching a geometry class for the Link. That struck me as a wonderful opportunity to get back around to teaching apart from the world of public school politics/concerns/etc., with a lot more freedom to explore the world of Euclidean geometry, along with the critical thinking and philosophy that the subject requires.
